Medical Malpractice Book by Attorney Ben Glass for Virginia Consumers.
Hi, this is Ben.I found that there are a lot of misconceptions about medical malpractice claims in Virginia.Patients don’t have a – a real view of what actually happens in a case and how difficult these cases are.As a result we spend a lot of time on the phone educating people about the medical malpractice claims process. Then one day I got this idea to write this book, Why Most Medical Malpractice Victims Never Recover a Dime.I wrote this for Virginia residents who believe they may have been injured by a doctor or another healthcare provider.I wrote it in order that they could have a lot of useful information about the claims process, about what’s involved, about how to find an experienced board certified medical malpractice attorney. So if you’ve come to this site because you believe that you may have been a victim of malpractice go ahead and fill out the form below or give us a call and we’ll rush you for free no obligation, it doesn’t mean we have to be your lawyer. It doesn’t mean we would accept your case but we’ll rush you this free book and I guarantee you that once you read it you’ll be a more educated consumer, and you won’t regret having spent the time to get the book to learning a little bit more about this process. Then if there’s something that we can help you with we’d be happy to talk to you.
Ben Glass on FELA, Federal Employee Liability Act claims
Hi, this is Ben.As you can imagine, we get calls from all over Virginia and all over the United States almost each and every day about a wide variety of legal problems.Sometimes we get calls from employees of the railroads who have been injured on the railroads. Now look, I know a lot about a lot of different things but I don’t know anything about that area of the law and so all of those calls I refer to my friends, Rick Shapiro and Jonathan Cooper down in Virginia Beach. These guys have really excelled at handling FELA cases, the Federal Employers Liability Act cases which is a law as I understand is to protect workers of railroads. They’ve written a terrific book that every railroad employee ought to read before they talk to the claims adjuster, file a claim, or talk to any other FELA attorney so I’ve created a link right below. It’s really easy to order their book. Their phone number and address is right below. These are the guys that I refer all of my clients to who have this issue.I highly respect the work that they do and I’m suggesting simply that if you think you’ve got an FELA claim anyplace in the country, go to the link below and click on their free book and start your educational process. You won’t regret having done so.
Tips on Dealing with an Insurance Adjuster After a Car Accident
Hi, this is Ben.Today I’ve got a tip for dealing with insurance adjusters. You know recently in our office we’ve had several people call and report to us this type of conversation, that is an insurance adjuster is showing up at a hospital room, showing up at the house or maybe calling someone even after business hours and here’s the conversation.
"Mr. Jones, we’d like to offer you $3,000.00 for your case. Will you – will you take that or are you gonna let some lawyer take 40 percent of it just to talk to you."
That really is an astounding conversation but I’ve now heard it from enough different people that I know it’s out there and we’ve heard it from the different insurance companies.Let me tell you a couple things.
Number 1, no legitimate personal injury lawyer is charging 40 percent of the recovery to settle your routine automobile accident case. That’s ridiculous and so for an insurance adjuster to suggest that a lawyer is gonna take 40 percent just for talking to you is an outright lie.
Number 2, you have plenty of time to deal with the adjuster. For example in Virginia you typically have two years from the date of the accident within which to file a lawsuit. There is no rush.
Number 3, they want to close the case paying you as little money as they can.If you take their $3,000.00 and a month from now find out that you need more care or surgery, too bad, you’re gonna have to pay for that. You’re on your own right.
So they’re trying to close the case early. They’re trying to rush you into a decision and they’re trying to intimidate you from talking to a lawyer. So here’s my offer to you.If you have an offer from an insurance company you call us, give us that information, and we will review that offer and your case for absolutely free. There is no way that we would charge 40 percent or anything to sit down with you to review their offer. It might be a good offer but then again usually it’s not.If it’s not we can talk about what we can do to help you improve your offer and help you get full recovery for your case. That’s my tip of the day about dealing with insurance adjusters.
